Pre Owned Vintage 1989 Dusty Strings D-25N Hammered Dulcimer w/ Case and Stand

A wonderful vintage 1989 Dusty Strings D-25N Hammered Dulcimer, handcrafted in Seattle, Washington. The D-25N is one of the earlier models that helped establish Dusty Strings as one of America's premier hammered-dulcimer makers, offering the warm, clear and beautifully balanced voice the company became known for.

The 15/14 configuration provides 15 treble and 14 bass courses in the traditional fifth-interval layout, giving the instrument an impressive musical range while retaining the classic, manageable D-25 size.

The D-25 has long since been discontinued, but Dusty Strings continues to support the model with replacement strings and published stringing information. It's also a model with some musical history: Rich Mullins famously played a Dusty Strings D-25, helping introduce the sound of the hammered dulcimer to a much wider audience.

Condition:

In excellent cosmetic and playing condition. Very slight signs of use, including some small scratches on the bottom (pictured). Includes attractive wooden stand for play or display, attachable leg for lap play, 2 pairs of Santoor hammers, manual, labeled inserts, and padded travel bag.
